There’s been another victory in Governor Greg Abbott’s fight against President Obama’s Executive Amnesty.

On Tuesday, the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals declined to lift the injunction on the Obama Administration’s Executive Amnesty. Governor Abbott predicts that the U.S. Supreme Court will ultimately reject any appeals made on the hold against Executive Amnesty. The Washington Times quotes Governor Abbott saying,

It would be highly unusual for the United States Supreme Court to grant the Obama administration’s request and allow this executive order to go into place while we are still litigating it.”

According to Governor Abbott, the future looks promising:

The big-term effect of this is that the likelihood of this order going into effect and being applied during the Obama administration is very minuscule.”

Michelle Malkin appeared on Fox News saying, “God Bless Greg Abbott who…led the way.”

This is a victory for the Constitution, but our fight isn’t over. The injunction still stands against the Obama Administration, and the 26-state lawsuit spearheaded by Texas is still in litigation. In July, there will be a hearing to determine if it is within President Obama’s authority to implement Executive Amnesty. The White House expects that battle to go to the Supreme Court.
