AUSTIN – Governor-elect Greg Abbott today hosted a roundtable with Houston-area legislators to discuss his priorities for the 84th Texas Legislative Session, outlining his plans for education, border security, economic expansion and transportation.

“As we approach the new year and upcoming session, it’s time for us to get to work to build an even better Texas for future generations and expand opportunity for all,” Gov.-elect Abbott said. “We must work together to improve our education system, fund the roads to the future for our growing population, secure our porous border, and maintain Texas’ position as a national leader in economic growth. I look forward to working with the Legislature to serve the people of Texas and ensure a brighter future for our state.”
