Governor Greg Abbott has fought to keep Common Core out of Texas, vetoing funding that would establish out-of-state standards for Texas children.
Unelected bureaucrats at the Legislative Budget Board are seeking to strip Governor Abbott of his line-item veto authority in order to grow government and increase spending and debt. And if they’re successful, it will lead to more than $220 million in unnecessary spending, including a provision to fund Common Core right here in the Lone Star State.
