AUSTIN – Texans for Greg Abbott today announced the endorsements of local and county law enforcement associations across Texas. Representatives of several associations offered praise for Greg Abbott’s Securing Texans policy plan and record as attorney general, and expressed their support for his candidacy for governor.

“Greg Abbott is a fighter, and has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to police officers and their families,” San Antonio Police Officers’ Association President Michael Helle said. “He has made protecting our communities a top priority as attorney general, and we are confident that he will continue fighting for our officers as governor as they work to protect the citizens of San Antonio.”

“As attorney general, Greg Abbott has worked closely with law enforcement to strengthen our anti-gang and anti-human trafficking laws and combat dangerous crimes that threaten our communities,” Brownsville Police Officers’ Association President Kurt Hines said. “He has a history of fighting for the concerns of the Brownsville law enforcement community, and we know we can trust Greg Abbott to continue this commitment as governor.”

“There is no better advocate to fight for the interests and priorities of the law enforcement community as our next governor than Greg Abbott,” El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association President Ron Martin said. “He truly recognizes the importance of enforcing the rule of law and providing law enforcement with the tools we need to protect Texans now and in the future. As attorney general, Greg Abbott has been a consistent voice for law enforcement officials in El Paso and across Texas, and we are proud to endorse him as our choice for governor.”
