Texas Governor Greg Abbott is working to decrease the cost of doing business in the state. On Tuesday, the Governor spoke to a group of small business owners in Austin. There, he vowed to reject any budget which does not include tax cuts for businesses.

“I will reject any budget that is sent to my desk that does not include lower taxes for businesses,” the Governor said.

He also wants to do away with some licensing requirements for certain fields, which make it more difficult to maintain businesses in the state. He said these are examples of over-regulation, and they are “not Texas-type laws.”
