Texas Pharmacy Association, Texas Hospital Association, and Texas Medical Association Political Action Committee Endorse Governor Abbott

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today received the endorsement of three healthcare groups in Texas representing physicians, hospitals, and pharmacies across Texas. These critical endorsements highlight the Governor’s record of strengthening Texas’ healthcare system while defending free-market principles, local control, and patient access.

“Health care advisors should have access to all of the technology and education needed to make an informed decision, and these groups are massive advocates for providers,” said Governor Abbott. “By expanding hospitals and pharmacies across the state, we can ensure Texans have greater access to the care they need. Together, we will build a healthier and stronger Texas for generations to come.”

“Governor Abbott has championed policies that support local pharmacies, protect patient access to medications, and promote transparency in the health care system,” said Texas Pharmacy Association CEO RoxAnn Dominguez, Pharm.D.

“Pharmacists serve on the front lines of care in communities across Texas. His leadership has helped ensure pharmacies remain strong partners in improving patient outcomes, and we support his re-election,” said Texas Pharmacy Association PharmPAC Chair Jobby John, Pharm.D.

“Governor Abbott has worked to strengthen Texas hospitals and ensure they have the resources to serve patients in every community,” said President and CEO of Texas Hospital Association John Hawkins. “From rural facilities to major medical centers, hospitals depend on sound policy and fiscal responsibility. Governor Abbott’s leadership has reinforced the foundation that allows Texas hospitals to deliver lifesaving care, and we are proud to endorse his re-election.”

“Texas Medical Association political action committee (TEXPAC) is proud to endorse Governor Abbott for reelection, as he has demonstrated a consistent willingness to protect patient safety and support physician-led care,” said Chair of TEXPAC John Shepherd, MD. “He vetoed Senate Bill 268, which would have limited the Texas Medical Board’s ability to hold individuals accountable for practicing outside their scope, preserving the board’s authority to safeguard the quality of care Texans receive. Likewise, his support for the Life of the Mother Act reflects an understanding of the importance of physician judgment in critical medical decisions.”

Governor Abbott provided crucial funding to expand rural and mental health hospitals across Texas — allowing the state hospital system to expand into communities where it is needed most. Governor Abbott will continue to defend medical freedom and empower providers.
