ATHENS – Governor Greg Abbott today energized supporters during his Get-Out-The-Vote tour, urging Texans to go to the polls and vote to keep Texas red.

“We must rein in runaway spending by every property taxing jurisdiction in the state of Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “Texans should never face higher property taxes without the opportunity to vote on it, and any increase should require a two-thirds approval before it takes effect. That’s how we deliver real property tax relief and ensure families keep more of their hard-earned money. But none of this happens unless you make your voice heard in the Republican primary. Get out and vote early, and let’s make property tax relief a reality for every Texan.”

At both the Magnolia and Athens stops, the Governor highlighted the law he signed that banned foreign adversaries — like China, Iran, and Russia — from buying Texas land. The Governor also highlighted the productive federal partnership to secure the border and the collaborative work to arrest, detain, and deport criminal illegal immigrants.

Early Voting Information
Early voting is underway. Texans can find their closest polling location, hours of operation, and sample ballots by visiting VoteTexas.gov or their county election website. Voters are encouraged to cast their ballots early to avoid lines on Election Day and ensure their voices are heard.

Later today, Governor Abbott will be in Richardson, TX. Additional photos will be provided here when available.
