CONROE – Governor Greg Abbott today hosted a packed crowd of Texas voters for a Get Out The Vote event in Conroe to promote the conservative principles that make Texas thrive. The Governor was joined by candidate for Senate District 4, Brett Ligon.

“Texas is at a turning point, and we must turn out the vote to elect leaders like Brett Ligon who will fight for safer communities and a stronger future,” said Governor Abbott. “We will keep dangerous criminals behind bars, secure the border for the long term, and ensure Texas remains the safest and strongest state in the nation.”

Governor Abbott emphasized that Texas continues to lead the nation in border security, cutting illegal crossings and taking aggressive action against transnational criminal organizations. He highlighted efforts to ban foreign ownership of Texas land and hold cities accountable that undermine law enforcement. The Governor noted that out-of-control spending by local governments is undercutting billions in property tax relief and causing rates to skyrocket. To combat this, the Governor showcased his 5-point property tax relief plan to hold local officials accountable and keep Texas affordable.
