WICHITA FALLS – Governor Greg Abbott today spoke with Wichita Falls residents at the Cattlemen’s Trailer and Ag Supply LLC, a local business that provides livestock equipment. The Governor heard directly from rural Texans on the cost of living and how the Abbott Affordability Agenda directly address high costs. Governor Abbott was joined by Representative James Frank.
“I was born in Wichita Falls. Farming, ranching, and cattle raising is the way of life that founded the Texas we call home,” Governor Abbott said. “Texans work hard for every dollar they earn, and they deserve to keep more of it. With my affordability agenda, Texans will keep more money in their pockets. ”
During the discussion, Governor Abbott heard from rural Texans, small business owners, firefighters, and local leaders about the affordability challenges facing families. The Governor also discussed his plan to eliminate school district property taxes for homeowners, including how the state can use its strong fiscal position and other savings to provide lasting property tax relief. Governor Abbott highlighted his proposal to lower the cost of summer courses at Texas colleges and universities and discussed the importance of supporting Sheppard Air Force Base and its continued role in the Wichita Falls community.
