COLLEGE STATION– Governor Greg Abbott tonight rallied Republicans to turn out to vote in the upcoming election during the Republican Party of Brazos Barbecue Dinner and Celebration. Governor Abbott was joined by Senator Charles Schwertner, Representative Paul Dyson, and Brazos County GOP Chair Russ Ford.
“The Democrats have abandoned all common sense,” said Governor Abbott. “We as Republicans must continue to fight for the people of Texas.”
During his remarks, Governor Abbott encouraged Republicans to support candidates up and down the ballot. The Governor emphasized the stark differences between the common sense policies Republican champion and the radical, socialist agenda Democrats continue to embrace. Under Governor Abbott’s leadership, Texas has delivered historic property tax relief, increased teacher pay, secured the border, and passed the strongest bail reform laws in Texas history. In contrast, Democrats continue to push for higher property taxes, allowing men to compete in women’s sports, and open border policies. Governor Abbott urged Republicans to continue the fight to keep Texas affordable, secure, and grounded in Texas values.
Governor Abbott also highlighted Democrat Gina Hinojosa’s radical record of supporting policies that are out of step with Texas values.
“Gina Hinojosa has a radical record that is hostile to the safety, security, and prosperity of Texans,” said Governor Abbott. “She has pushed for a state income tax, opposed commonsense election integrity measures, and fought to bring radical gender ideology into Texas classrooms. Texans deserve better than the failed policies Gina Hinojosa has spent her career advancing.”
