AUSTIN – Texans for Greg Abbott released a new video ad featuring Goliad County Sheriff Roy Boyd highlighting Governor Abbott’s leadership to secure the border, combat dangerous drug cartels, and fight human trafficking.
In the ad, Sheriff Boyd delivers a firsthand account of the Biden Administration’s border crisis. He describes Governor Abbott’s decisive actions to secure the border versus Gina Hinojosa’s dangerous open-border policies that would give illegal immigrants voting rights, tax-payer funded healthcare, and weaker penalties for human traffickers.
“At every opportunity, Gina Hinojosa has chosen to defend violent illegal criminals instead of Texans. Under her rule, criminals would be free to wreak havoc in our communities – all on your dime. Governor Abbott took decisive action to safeguard Texas and secure our nation in the wake of the Democrats’ deadly border crisis. Hinojosa’s open-border policies are too dangerous for Texas.”

TRANSCRIPT:
The border was chaos under Joe Biden. I saw drugs, gangs, and cartels pour in. Crimes shot up. Governor Abbott’s common sense policies closed the border and gave us the tools to fight crime and keep you safe. Gina Hinojosa wants to return to Biden’s policies. She supports weaker penalties on human traffickers and giving illegal immigrants voting rights, even taxpayer-funded healthcare. Gina Hinojosa’s policies are too dangerous for Texas.
- Governor Abbott’s Operation Lone Star has led to over half a million illegal immigrant apprehensions and more than 72,000 criminal arrests, with more than 57,100 felony charges. Also, in Texas’ fight against the fentanyl crisis, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard, through Operation Lone Star, have seized more than one billion lethal doses of fentanyl – enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman, and child in the Western Hemisphere.
