AMARILLO — Governor Greg Abbott took his “Let’s Roll” Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) tour to Amarillo, bringing the statewide effort to the Texas Panhandle at Youngblood’s Cafe. The Governor was joined by Representative Caroline Fairly and Republican candidate for House District 86 Holly Jeffreys.
“Because of legislation passed while I have been governor, Texans will never pay a state income tax,” said Governor Abbott. “Gina Hinojosa has advocated for a state income tax for more than a decade, calling it the “third leg” of the taxing stool. But this is Texas. An overwhelming majority of Texans voted to ban it. Gina Hinojosa’s high tax policies are out of step with Texas values.”
