“Texas Gov.-elect Greg Abbott is not shy about telling how many times he has sued the Obama administration.
You might say Abbott is almost proud of it — Abbott used his numerous lawsuits against the Obama administration as a talking point during his successful gubernatorial campaign.
“I have sued the Obama administration 30 times already,” Abbott told the Amarillo Globe-News editorial board — with a smile — during a campaign stop before the Nov. 4 election. (During another campaign stop in Amarillo, a similar comment by Abbott drew applause from those in attendance.)
Abbott’s record against the Obama administration?
“In cases that have been finally decided, the record is nine wins and seven losses,” Abbott said. “We clearly have a winning percentage. Importantly, if you look at the money saved by Texas taxpayers by those decisions, we have saved billions of dollars for Texas taxpayers through those legal efforts.”
The governor-elect (and outgoing Texas attorney general) might be taking on the Obama administration again, this time regarding the president’s executive order granting amnesty (let’s call it what it is) to as many as 5 million illegal immigrants.
There have been recent rumblings that Abbott will sue the Obama administration regarding this issue, and don’t be surprised if it happens. (There was no official decision as of this writing.)
We hope the governor-elect takes on the Obama administration again…”
