Every single child deserves access to quality education, no matter their zip code. And with the use of technology, virtual learning can provide that opportunity to all Texans.
That’s why the third phase of my education plan, which I announced today, focuses on digital learning. Because with so much technology and innovative resources available at our fingertips, we can ensure that all Texas students can learn without limits.
Learning is no longer bound by bricks and mortar. It is expanded exponentially by bytes and bandwidth. Together, we will improve access to high-quality education for all Texans through enhanced virtual learning.
By expanding online courses and tutoring, we will ensure our students have the tools they need to succeed. And by funding professional development programs, we will see that teachers and schools are prepared to incorporate virtual learning into the classroom.
Texas is already number one in so many categories. For Texas to continue to grow and prosper, we must prepare our children for the jobs of tomorrow. My plan ensures that Texas leads the way in educating the next generation of Americans.
With innovative new approaches to education, we can – and will – see Texas children graduate from the best education system in the country.
