AUSTIN — When media pressed Gina Hinojosa on her support for the creation of a state income tax in Texas, her excuse was empty: “Silly me.” High Tax Hinojosa can deny it as much as she likes — her votes prove without a doubt that Hinojosa’s solution for a “better Texas” is taxes, taxes, and more taxes.
“High Tax Hinojosa wouldn’t touch her own record with a ten-foot pole. That’s because she can’t explain why she hiked property taxes by nearly $900 on the AISD School Board and later voted to increase property taxes 40 times in the Texas Legislature. Or why she claimed Texas was hurting without a state income tax and voted against a constitutional ban on it. Or why she affirmed there shouldn’t be more tax cuts at the state level. ‘Silly me’ doesn’t cut it when you’re auditioning to be the leader of the eighth largest economy in the world.”
