EXPOSED: HYPOCRITE HINOJOSA VOTED TO EXPAND THE DATA CENTER TAX INCENTIVES SHE NOW OPPOSES
AUSTIN – Gina Hinojosa likes to pretend she had no role to play in promoting data center growth in Texas. The reality is this: Hypocrite Hinojosa voted repeatedly in favor of legislation that helped data centers qualify for or expand their tax-exempt status.

- In 2017, Hinojosa voted for HB 4038, legislation that continued the same tax break that the 2015 Texas Legislature previously approved. (HB 4038, 85R)
- In 2023, Hinojosa voted — THREE TIMES — for HB 3104, which would have expanded the sales tax exemption for large, multi-structure, connected data center projects. The bill ultimately died in the Senate. (HB 3104, 88R)
