AUSTIN – First Lady Cecilia Abbott today attended the Charles Schwab & Co. Community Ambassador Leadership Summit in Austin, where she welcomed Schwab Community Ambassadors from around the nation and recognized the more than 50,000 hours of volunteer service they contributed to their communities this year. The First Lady also spoke about her signature Texanthropy initiative and the importance of corporate community engagement and volunteer service in Texas.
“We all have gifts to share,” said First Lady Abbott. “That’s why my top priority is encouraging Texans to give back through volunteerism and service. Through my travels, I have met so many individuals, organizations, and businesses like yours who are so willing to give their time, talent or treasure to help their communities. My hope is that your leadership inspires others to answer the call to serve, to volunteer, and give back—each in their own way.”
