Texas is the ninth largest oil producer in the world. And we’re on track to keep moving up. A new report shows that oil and gas production has reached record levels in Texas – this directly translates to good-paying jobs and a prosperous state economy. According to the Houston Chronicle:
The number of active oil and gas rigs in Texas rose to 891, up 6 percent from the same time last year and total oil and gas employment spiked to record levels of 297,800, according to the index.
And those numbers don’t take into account the full effect of the industry’s job expansion, Ingham said.
But the Obama Administration’s job-killing EPA continues to threaten this vital sector in our state through burdensome and unconstitutional regulations.
