GINA HINOJOSA VOTES LIKE SHE’S A MEMBER OF THE DSA
AUSTIN – High Tax Hinojosa’s votes in the Texas Legislature are not only anti-Texas – they directly affirm the beliefs of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Hinojosa cast votes on policing, gender policy, and criminal justice that align with positions advocated by the Democratic Socialists of America:
- Hinojosa voted against legislation that penalizes Texas cities for defunding their police departments (HB 1900, 87R).
Similarly, the Democratic Socialists of America’s political platform “demands” the following when it comes to law enforcement: “Defund the police by rejecting any expansion to police budgets or scope of enforcement while cutting budgets annually towards zero.”
2. Hinojosa voted against protecting kids from dangerous, experimental, and life-changing sex change surgeries (SB 14, 88R), was in favor of men and women sharing the same bathroom (SB 8, 89(2)), and rejected that there are only two sexes: male and female (HB 229, 89R).

3. Hinojosa voted against legislation that requires rogue prosecutors to uphold the law (HB 17, 88R) and opposed legislation that cracks down on the revolving door bail system (HB 75, 89R).
Hinojosa’s voting record reveals repeated support for violent criminals over the safety and security of Texas families. The Democratic Socialists of America would be happy to hear that Hinojosa has a history of releasing criminals from jail. Their political platform “demands” “freedom for all incarcerated people.”
