AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed F. Parker Hudson, III, M.D. and John Mills, D.O. to the Correctional Managed Health Care Committee for terms set to expire on February 1, 2021. The Committee coordinates the development of statewide policies for the delivery of correctional health care within the criminal justice system.
F. Parker Hudson, III, M.D. of Austin is an assistant professor of Internal Medicine & Infectious Diseases at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas Austin. He practices and teaches at Dell Seton Medical Center and within CommUnityCare. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, American College of Physicians, Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Hudson received a Bachelor of Science in genetics and cellular biology from the University of Georgia and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he also completed his medical residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. Additionally, he received a Masters of Public Health in epidemiology and specialized in adult infectious diseases at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
John Mills, D.O. of Corsicana is an associate professor and medical director of Correctional Programs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He is a member and past president of the American Osteopathic Board of Preventive Medicine and a lifetime member of the United States Army Society of Flight Surgeons and the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army, where he served from 1967-1970 and 1987-1989, and was decorated with 27 air medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Meritorious Service Medal. Mills received a Bachelor of Science in medical technology, Master of Science in anatomy, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University, and a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan.
