AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today delivered remarks at the Kingwood TEA Party’s Monthly Meeting. The Governor thanked the organization for its tireless efforts to keep Texas red and highlighted the conservative achievements of the 87th Legislative Session and the State’s efforts to secure the border.

“The Texas Legislature passed law after law this session to ensure a healthier, safer, freer, and more prosperous future for our great state,” said Governor Abbott. “We protected the sanctity of life, further secured second amendment rights, reformed our broken bail system, upheld election integrity, and so much more. And because of the men and women of the Kingwood TEA Party, we were able to send principled conservative leaders to Austin to tackle these priorities.

“But we didn’t stop there—we allocated over a billion dollars towards border security to address the crisis that President Biden has abandoned. This funding will strengthen our ongoing efforts through Operation Lone Star to send Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and members of the Texas National Guard to the border to keep our communities safe. In the wake of the Biden Administration’s refusal to secure the border, the State of Texas is continuing to take action within the Legislature and outside of the Legislature to mitigate the influx of unlawful immigrants coming across our border.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to protect our communities and ensure an even more prosperous future for the Lone Star State—but that wouldn’t be possible without your hard work and support. Thank you to Robin and Jim Lennon and the Kingwood TEA Party for your tireless efforts to keep Texas red and elect Republicans here in Harris County. I look forward to our continued work together to ensure even more conservative victories here in the Lone Star State in the years to come.”
