Governor Abbott Elected To Serve On Republican Governors Association 2017 Executive Committee

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has been elected to serve on the Executive Committee for the Republican Governors Association (RGA) for 2017. The Executive Committee works to recruit new candidates to run for governor in addition to ensuring the RGA remains a strong organization committed to electing and re-electing Republican governors across the nation. The Executive Committee also approves the RGA’s budget, provides strategic advice and approval for expenditures and determines the focus of the RGA in gubernatorial campaigns.

“I am deeply honored to serve on the Executive Committee with my fellow Republican governors as we continue to advance bold, conservative leadership throughout the United States,” said Governor Abbott. “I look forward to working with the Republican Governor’s Association to continue to build upon what Republican governors have achieved at the state-level, and adding even more Republican governors to the list of 33 states we hold today.”

Additionally, Governor Abbott will host Republican governors in Austin, Texas in November 2017 for the RGA’s annual conference.
