AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today endorsed Dr. Dawn Buckingham for re-election as State Senator of Senate District 24. Senator Buckingham was a pivotal figure in the passage of legislation allowing beer-to-go in Texas, and worked to ensure that property tax and school finance reform made it through the Texas Senate. Governor Abbott is grateful to Senator Buckingham for her commitment to the future of Texas.

“The success of this session would not have been possible without Senator Buckingham’s commitment to improving the lives of Texans,” said Governor Abbott. “Senator Buckingham championed legislation on many important issues, including reining in property taxes and reforming school finance. I am grateful for Senator Buckingham’s leadership in the Texas Senate, and I am confident that she will continue to represent the people of Senate District 24 with and integrity.”

Senate District 24 includes the counties of Bandera, Bell, Blanco, Brown, Burnet, Callahan, Comanche, Coryell, Gillespie, Hamilton, Kerr, Lampasas, Llano, Mills, San Saba, Taylor, and Travis.
