AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today endorsed Ernie Aliseda for Chief Justice of the 13th Court of Appeals. In his endorsement, the Governor praised Judge Aliseda for his service to our nation as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army, and his track record of leadership and commitment upholding the Rule of Law in Texas.
“Judge Ernie Aliseda, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, has answered the call to serve our country, state and his community as a soldier and public servant,” said Governor Abbott. “He is a strong leader with years of experience as a State District Judge, Municipal Judge and Army Trial Judge. I am proud to endorse Judge Ernie Aliseda for Chief Justice of the 13th Court of Appeals.”
Judge Aliseda is currently a University of Texas regent and municipal court judge in McAllen. The 13th Court of Appeals serves a twenty-county area including Nueces County and the Rio Grande Valley.
