AUSTIN – Today, Governor Greg Abbott announced his endorsement of Glenn Hegar for re-election to the Comptroller of Public Accounts. Hegar has served as the Texas Comptroller since 2015.
Governor Abbott said, “Comptroller Hegar’s steady leadership and his tireless focus on Texas’ complex economy has been instrumental in helping navigate through one of the most challenging economic periods in the history of our state, and now he is identifying and allocating critical funds needed to support Texas’ border security efforts including the Texas border wall. As Joe Biden and Washington Democrats work to undermine our economic success and failing to secure our southern border, it has never been more important to have a proven conservative safeguarding our fiscal future. There is no one I trust more to protect the world’s 9th largest economy than Comptroller Glenn Hegar and I am proud to endorse him for another term as Texas Comptroller.”
