AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today endorsed Jake Ellzey for State Representative of House District 10. Ellzey is a proven conservative who understands that free enterprise and limited government are vital to the continued prosperity of the Lone Star State.

“Jake Ellzey understands the issues that matter most to the people of Ellis and Henderson counties, and he will work every day in the House to defend the principles that make Texas the best state to live, work, and raise a family,” said Governor Abbott. “I am proud to endorse Jake for State Representative, and I am confident in his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of all Texans.”

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Jake Ellzey served as a fighter pilot and completed his service as the Air Boss on the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier. In his 20 years of service, Ellzey was deployed nine times, including to Afghanistan and Iraq. He served five combat tours by air and one by ground with Seal Team 5. For his service, Jake received two bronze stars and eight air medals. After retiring from the military, Ellzey became a successful local businessman, a commercial airline pilot, and also served Texas as Commissioner on the Texas Veterans Commission. Ellzey and his wife, Shelby, have two children and reside in Ellis County.
