AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today endorsed Chief Justice Jeff Alley for re-election to the Eighth Court of Appeals. Chief Justice Alley has demonstrated a profound understanding of Constitutional principles, and seeks to maintain a fair and honest judicial system for the people of Texas. Governor Abbott appointed Chief Justice Alley to the court in October 2019.

“I am proud to endorse Jeff Alley for re-election as Chief Justice of the Eighth Court of Appeals, and I am confident that he will continue to serve the people of Texas with honesty and dignity,” said Governor Abbott. “Chief Justice Alley strictly adheres to Constitutional principles and understands the importance of maintaining the rule of law. He is a dynamic leader of the court, and deserving of another term.

The Eighth Court of Appeals includes the counties of Andrews, Brewster, Crane, Crockett, Culberson, El Paso, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Loving, Pecos, Presidio, Reagan, Reeves, Terrell, Upton, Ward, and Winkler.
