AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today endorsed Judge Piper McCraw for re-election to the 469th District Court in Collin County. The Governor appointed Judge McCraw to this position in 2015. The 469th District Court is a specialized court that handles family law matters and child protective service cases.

“I am proud to endorse Judge Piper McCraw for re-election to the 469th District Court,” said Governor Abbott. “Judge McCraw is committed to seeking justice and upholding the rule of law for the people of Collin County. Her keen legal mind and expertise in family law and child welfare make her deserving of re-election.”

Prior to taking the bench, Judge McCraw was an Assistant District Attorney for Collin County. After leaving the Collin County DA’s office, she joined McCraw Gantt, PLLC. As a practicing attorney, she tried over 100 jury trials and hundreds of trials to the court. She additionally served on the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association Board of Directors and the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee. In November 2016, Judge McCraw was appointed by the Texas Supreme Court to the Permanent Judicial Commission for Children, Youth, and Families, also known as the Texas Children’s Commission. Judge McCraw is proud to serve as the Vice Chair of the Commission and as the Chair of the Commission’s Training Committee. Judge McCraw received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and a Juris Doctor from Texas A&M School of Law.
