AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today endorsed Judge Sydney Hewlett for re-election to the 18th District Court in Johnson and Somervell Counties. As an experienced legal expert, Judge Hewlett has demonstrated a commitment to serving the people of Texas and has worked tirelessly to ensure that Constitutional principles are upheld throughout the judicial process. Governor Abbott appointed Judge Hewlett to the 18th District Court in March 2019.
“I am proud to support Judge Hewlett for re-election, and I am grateful for her leadership and diligence on behalf of the people of Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “Judge Hewlett’s keen legal mind and commitment to the rule of law make her deserving of re-election, and I know she will continue to uphold the Constitution as a member of the 18th District Court.”
