AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today endorsed the 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump for President in 2024 during a border visit in Edinburg. Addressing a crowd of hundreds of supporters, Governor Abbott extolled the border security success under President Trump’s strong leadership and President Biden’s abysmal failure to do his job to ensure the security of our nation.

“Four years ago under President Trump, the United States had the lowest illegal border crossings in decades because he put critical policies in place that kept illegal immigration under control. Today, we’ve seen record high after record high of illegal immigrants—including known terrorists on the terror watch list—coming across our border, totaling nearly 8 million people entering our country illegally under President Joe Biden.

We also stand here today with the world on fire. Wars have broken out between Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Hamas, and China is posing a threat to Taiwan in a way that did not exist four years ago. Our enemies are emboldened by a very feeble President of the United States.

The United States can no longer go down this pathway—and I’m not sure this country would make it through another four years of Joe Biden as President. Now, more than ever, America needs a President that will step up and prioritize national security and secure our border—and we have a President who has done just that. His name is Donald Trump, and I am proud to endorse him for President in 2024.”

The Governor was also joined for the announcement by National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd.
