LONGVIEW – Governor Greg Abbott this evening delivered the keynote address at the Gregg County Republican Party’s very first Lincoln Reagan Dinner, drawing a sharp contrast ahead of the November midterm elections: common sense Republican leadership that keeps Texas strong, safe, and affordable versus the crazy Democrat agenda of higher taxes, open borders, soft-on-crime policies, and far-left socialist priorities.
“We are facing a fundamental choice about the future of Texas,” said Governor Abbott. “Republicans are fighting to slash property taxes, secure borders, keep communities safe, protect parental rights, and safeguard the freedoms that have made Texas the greatest state in America. Democrats are offering a radically different direction. We must continue fighting to protect the Texas values that have made our state a beacon of freedom and opportunity.”
During his remarks, Governor Abbott highlighted Republican priorities, including cutting property taxes, strengthening border security, keeping violent criminals off the streets, and preserving the integrity of women’s sports.
The Governor also discussed the Abbott Affordability Agenda, including slashing property taxes by up to 50% on average and lowering the cost of housing, healthcare, home and auto insurance, electricity, and higher education. The Governor contrasted that with the Democrats out-of-step agenda of higher taxes, soft-on-crime policies, and open borders. Governor Abbott urged conservatives to unite to defeat this extreme, woke left agenda once and for all.
