Receives Endorsement From Soles Walking 4 Souls Fentanyl Moms
SAN ANTONIO – Governor Greg Abbott today received the endorsement of Soles Walking 4 Souls, an advocacy organization founded by mothers who lost children to fentanyl poisoning dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of illicit fentanyl. He was also joined in San Antonio by law enforcement leaders from the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Bexar County, San Antonio Police Officers Association, and Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office to discuss Texas’ ongoing efforts to reduce fentanyl deaths and highlight efforts to keep Texans safe.
“Texans want safe communities and secure borders,” said Governor Abbott. “I have joined with law enforcement officers to keep Texas safe by creating the Repeat Offender Task Force, spearheading tougher bail for dangerous criminals, and cracking down on fentanyl findings at our border. With enough fentanyl seized to kill every man, woman, and child in all of North America, this widespread fatal drug must be taken seriously. We have now seen a 40% reduction in fentanyl related deaths, we are saving lives.”
“Governor Abbott has been a true champion in the fight against fentanyl,” said Director of Soles Walking 4 Souls Kathy Drago. “He has stood with families like ours, from launching Operation Lone Star and signing the One Pill Kills Initiative, and I am grateful that he has supported us at our Fentanyl Awareness Walk every year since we first invited him. His commitment to protecting Texas families and saving lives is why I am proud to stand with him.”
The Governor exposed radical democrat Gina Hinojosa’s record on her refusal to back the blue.
“Gina Hinojosa’s record on public safety is reckless, and endangers the lives of Texans,” said Governor Abbott. “Her voting record speaks for itself, and she has even gone as far as authoring a bill that would have stripped law enforcement officers from protection against frivolous lawsuits. There is not a singular legislator more hostile to law enforcement officers than Gina Hinojosa.”
