AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today delivered remarks at a Get Out The Vote event in Baytown. The Governor was joined by Representative Briscoe Cain, whom he endorsed for re-election in House District 128. Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude to Representative Cain for his work to secure property tax reform, increase teacher pay, and reform Texas’ school finance system this past session. He concluded his remarks by calling upon the people of the Coastal Bend to head to the polls and re-elect dynamic leaders like Representative Cain in order to secure a future of prosperity and opportunity for the state of Texas.
“Thanks to hardworking leaders like Representative Cain, Texas is on a path to a brighter future,” said Governor Abbott. “With his help, we made incredible strides this session to rein in property taxes, increase pay for our teachers, and reform our school finance system. Now more than ever, we need to re-elect Republicans like Representative Cain to build upon these incredible achievements. I am asking every voter in House District 128 to head to the polls and secure a victory for Representative Cain.”
