AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today ignited voter enthusiasm and encouraged supporters to back Republican candidate Marc LaHood for House District 121 during a Get Out The Vote event in San Antonio.
“I know a lot of people are really excited and focused on the presidential campaign,” said Governor Abbott. “But I need everybody here to go vote all the way down the ballot and to make sure you vote Marc LaHood for State Representative. There is a divide between Marc LaHood and his opponent. If his opponent is elected, they would set a course for the wrong direction for the state of Texas. If you ever watch a football game, you’re likely in the stands rooting for your team. In politics, you need to be on the field and get people out to vote. Working together, we will ensure Texans go out and vote for Marc LaHood to be House District 121’s next State Representative.”
Speaking to a packed crowd of voters and Republican activists, Governor Abbott highlighted Marc LaHood’s commitment to Texas values and contrasted them with his opponent who is in favor of government spending, open borders, biological men in women’s sports, and soft-on-crime policies. The Governor slammed the Biden-Harris Administration’s disastrous open border policies and showcased the success of Texas’ historic border security mission, noting that illegal crossings into the state have decreased by 88% since the launch of Operation Lone Star. Governor Abbott then encouraged the crowd of eager supporters to head to the polls and vote Republican from the White House to the courthouse.
