PASADENA – Governor Greg Abbott today met with Texans to discuss his Affordability Agenda to lower the cost of living and keep more money in the pockets of hardworking Texans. The Governor was hosted in Pasadena by candidate for House District 144 David Flores and was joined by Representative Briscoe Cain, candidate for House District 129 Scott Bowen, and candidate for House District 128 Tom Butler.
“Texas families deserve to keep more of their hard-earned money,” said Governor Abbott. “The Abbott Affordability Agenda will save the average homeowner roughly $3,000 a year in property taxes, lower home and auto insurance costs, reduce the cost of higher education and healthcare, and lower housing and electricity costs. Together, these reforms will deliver thousands of dollars in savings for Texans every year.”
Governor Abbott has made affordability a top priority, delivering historic property tax relief, freezing college tuition rates, and advancing reforms to lower everyday costs for Texas families. The Abbott Affordability Agenda builds on that record by cutting property taxes by up to 50%, keeping tuition and fees frozen at Texas public colleges and universities, lowering home and auto insurance costs, reducing healthcare and prescription drug costs, expanding choice and competition in the electricity market, and cutting regulations that drive up the cost of building and buying a home.
