AUSTIN — Governor Greg Abbott last night urged Texans in House District 5 to rally behind Representative Cole Hefner for re-election at a campaign stop in Mount Pleasant. The Governor and Representative Hefner were joined by Senator Bryan Hughes.

“Representative Cole Hefner is a strong conservative leader who stands up for your values in the Texas House,” said Governor Abbott. “Cole will vote on behalf of the overwhelming majority of his constituents to ensure that every parent has the right to choose the school that is best for their child. Cole’s role in the House has also been critical in everything that we’re doing to secure the border. He had my back every step of the way in our efforts to keep our communities safe from President Biden’s border crisis. To keep making progress toward a brighter future for all Texans in House District 5 and across the entire state, please join me in supporting Representative Cole Hefner for re-election this year.”

Speaking to a crowd gathered at the Mid-America Flight Museum, Governor Abbott championed Representative Hefner as a staunch conservative fighter who has helped deliver victories important to Texans House District 5, including historic property tax cuts, unprecedented efforts to secure the border, and measures to put parents back in charge of their child’s education.
