AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott tonight issued a congratulatory statement after Javier Villalobos was elected mayor of McAllen. The Governor appointed Villalobos to the Prepaid Higher Education Tuition Board in July 2018.
“Javier is a proven leader who cares deeply about the McAllen community,” said Governor Abbott. “I congratulate him on his election as Mayor of McAllen and look forward to working alongside him to ensure an even more prosperous future for the people of the Rio Grande Valley.”
