AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today visited the storm-affected areas of Wharton and Beaumont, TX where he met with local officials, and received on-site updates on the recovery efforts currently underway. During his visit, the Governor thanked local officials for their tireless efforts and for their commitment to the victims in these communities. The Governor also reassured them that the state is working closely with its local and federal partners to do everything possible to assist in the recovery effort.

“Being on the ground in these communities and seeing the recovery process firsthand is an essential part of the state’s duty in serving the needs of the victims,” said Governor Abbott. “I am proud of the amazing work of these local leaders, and I will ensure they have everything they need as they begin to recover. I assure the victims of this storm that we are with them, and will continue to be at their side to help in any capacity.”
