At Noon today, the Governor held a press conference at the Texas Capitol, as the Texas flag flew at half-mast to honor a fallen hero. Joined by many, including his wife, Cecilia Abbott, and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, the Governor signed a proclamation officially recognizing February 2 as Chris Kyle Day.
The document commemorates thelate Navy SEAL as “an example to all who have served and who continue to serve to protect our families and our freedom.”
Chris Kyle is a true American hero who served four tours in Iraq. A native Texan, Kyle brought pride to his state by serving his country with honor and living a life of faith. He is the subject of the recent blockbuster American Sniper.
