Greg Abbott Emergency Item: Transportation Funding

In his State of the State speech, Governor Greg Abbott designated transportation funding one of his five emergency items. Governor Abbott’s goals for transportation funding are to:

Ensure money raised for roads will be spent on roads
Dedicate half the revenue from the state’s vehicle sales tax to transportation
End diversions of gas tax revenue to purposes other than transportation
