In his campaign for governor, Greg Abbott has proposed:
- Increased funding for schools that adopt “Gold Standard” Pre-K 4 programs to put students on an early path to success.
- New instructional resources for teachers and leadership training for principals to help them ensure students are reading and doing math at grade level by the 3rd grade.
- Restoring genuine local control to school districts by exempting them from burdensome mandates from Austin.
- Empowering parents to take action to address failing schools.
- Providing expanded access to virtual courses so students can learn without limits.
