AUSTIN – In another testament to Governor Greg Abbott’s commitment to Texas’ first responders, the Houston Police Officers Union PAC (HPOU PAC) today endorsed Governor Abbott for re-election. HPOU passionately supports and advocates for legislation that improves the working conditions for law enforcement officers. Following the endorsements of the Dallas Police Association PAC, the Texas Fraternal Order Of Police PAC, the San Antonio Police Officers Association PAC, and the Texas Municipal Police Association PAC, the endorsement of HPOU PAC is the fifth law enforcement endorsement for Governor Abbott.

“I am thankful for the endorsement of HPOU PAC, an organization that understands why we must ensure that our law enforcement community is fully supported across the state,” said Governor Abbott. “Over the next four years, I look forward to working with our first responders to make our communities safer and strengthen protections for our officers.”

In a video, Joseph Gamaldi, President of HPOU, highlighted Governor Abbott’s own leadership in protecting those that protect Texas. In part, Gamaldi said, “Throughout his time in office [Governor Abbott] has worked with law enforcement across the state to cut down on violent crime and gang activity that plague our communities. Texas needs four more years of Governor Abbott so that we can continue to work toward a safer future for the communities here in Houston and across the state.”
