AUSTIN — Texans for Greg Abbott released a new ad highlighting Gina Hinojosa’s votes against legislation aimed at combating the deadly fentanyl crisis in Texas. When given the chance to punish fentanyl dealers for murdering innocent Texans, Hinojosa declined, adding to her history of prioritizing violent and repeat criminals over law-abiding Texans.
In the ad, Soles Walking 4 Souls Director Kathy Drago — whose son died from fentanyl poisoning — shares why she supports Governor Abbott and the work he is doing to curb the fentanyl epidemic and hold criminals accountable.
“Gina Hinojosa voted against legislation to bring harsher penalties on drug dealers who deliver fatal doses of fentanyl; legislation aimed at combating the deadly fentanyl crisis in Texas. That’s unconscionable. Texans deserve better.”
— Catherine Frazier, Texans for Greg Abbott Communications Director
- Hinojosa voted against approval of HB 6 which authorized murder charges against drug dealers who provide fatal doses of fentanyl. HB6 (88R)
