Our lives are changed by single moments, especially the ones we never see coming.
For me, that moment came on an afternoon in 1984 when I went for a run. Halfway through, a tree collapsed, falling on me and crushing my spinal cord. I was left permanently paralyzed from the waist down.
Texans may get knocked down, but we always get back up.
In the immediate aftermath, as I clung to every moment, I remembered the lesson instilled in me by my parents – the lesson of perseverance. It was the lesson of never, ever giving up.
I work to apply this principle every day, as well as the values of hard work and faith in God.
As Texas’ Attorney General, my mission is clear: defend our Constitutional rights, protect our kids, our families, and our values.
If you believe that our Constitutional rights and individual liberties must always be defended against an overreaching federal government, then I ask you to join with me in this fight.
As I learned from my accident and throughout my career, our lives aren’t defined by our challenges, instead, we get to define our lives by how we respond to those challenges.
Please take a moment to watch this video explaining my values and why I fight every day to defend Texas from threats to our liberty.
