One of the trademarks of Greg Abbott’s tenure as Attorney General has been stopping deceptive and illegal practices within the healthcare system in order to safeguard Texas consumers.
Major Pharmaceuticals Inc. will pay a $5 million settlement to be equally distributed between Texas and the federal government for fraudulent Medicaid claims.
The state’s enforcement action accused Major of misreporting the price of various generic drugs to the Medicaid program. As a result, the taxpayer-funded program was overcharged for certain of Major’s products. –Odessa American
