SEN. JANE NELSON: “From the border to women’s health to mental health to child protective services reform, Governor Abbott has helped Texans be his top priority, and he’s worked hand-in-hand with the Texas Legislature to pass key legislative reforms.” SEN. NELSON: “Our current budget includes over $8.4 billion in total dollars across 25 state agencies to support mental health. Women’s health funding is at an all-time high in Texas. We have over $350 million in our budget devoted to key preventative health services for women, including family planning.” SEN. NELSON: “Since 2017 Governor Abbott worked with us to provide $1.1 billion to support Texas foster care children. I know the state will be in good hands as Governor Abbott works over his next term to keep Texas strong, healthy and successful.”
