Texans For Greg Abbott Raises More Than $3.8 Million In Less Than A Month, Has Almost $50 Million Cash On Hand

Governor Abbott’s Campaign Also Requested an In-Kind Contribution from Beto for Texas for His Policy Flip-Flops Benefiting Texans for Greg Abbott

AUSTIN – Texans for Greg Abbott today announced a sound fundraising report, collecting more than $3.8 million in the latest reporting period – January 21st to February 19th.

“Momentum for Governor Abbott’s campaign continues to build from every corner of Texas. As we approach Primary Night, our fundraising continues to keep pace,” said Kim Snyder, Texans for Greg Abbott Campaign Manager. The nearly 25,000 contributions in less than a month illustrates that Governor Abbott’s support is strong and broad-based.

The $3.8 million included donations from more than 5,000 first time contributors. “Governor Abbott’s campaign continues to reach new supporters all throughout Texas. We’ve seen excitement for him grow in areas that are not traditional Republican strongholds, positioning us well for the campaign to come,” said Snyder.

The total cash on hand at the end of February 19th, was almost $50 million.

Texans for Greg Abbott included a note at the end of this report detailing a potential in-kind contribution from Beto for Texas. It is included in full below.

“Our campaign requested, but as of the filing deadline did not receive, an in-kind contribution from Beto for Texas, the specific-purpose committee to support Beto O’Rourke’s candidacy for governor. Once we receive the in-kind, we will immediately amend this report to reflect the contribution. The changes Mr. O’Rourke has taken publicly—and that Beto for Texas has promoted—can only be viewed as intended to support Governor Abbott’s re-election. There can be no other logical explanations for these reversals, and they only serve to weaken his own political efforts. Accordingly, any such expenditures made by Beto for Texas would support the Governor’s re-election, and would be reportable in-kind contributions. These position changes include, without limitation, Mr. O’Rourke claiming he does not support confiscating firearms (after he repeatedly endorsed taking firearms from the public), that he supports a secure border (after he repeatedly campaigned on an open border policy), and that he does not want to take away tax benefits from churches (after he emphatically said he would end their tax-exempt status if they failed to follow the woke liberal ideology).”
