As governor, Greg Abbott will fight for the free market principles that have made Texas the national leader in job creation year after year.

The latest job numbers are out, and April 2014 was another strong month for Texas. According to the Texas Workforce Commission, the state added 64,100 new jobs in April, and the unemployment rate dropped to 5.2 percent – more than a full point below the national average of 6.3 percent.

It couldn’t be more clear – Texas’ formula of low taxes and limited government equals growth and opportunity for our families and communities. It’s why we have remained the best state for business for 10 years in a row, and it’s why, with Greg Abbott’s leadership, we will continue leading the nation into the future.
