Texas Home School Coalition Endorses Greg Abbott for Governor, Texans for Greg Abbott Releases New Web Video
AUSTIN – Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott today received the endorsement of the Texas Home School Coalition. Tim Lambert, President of Texas Home School Coalition, offered his organization’s endorsement with the following statement:
“Greg Abbott has demonstrated a commitment to the rights that allow parents to teach their children at home. He clearly understands the fundamental constitutional right of parents to direct the care, control and upbringing of their children. For those reasons, the Texas Home School Coalition Association and I are glad to endorse him in his race for Governor of Texas.”
“I’m committed to ensuring all children in Texas have access to the best education possible,” said Greg Abbott. “For many children, that means improving our public schools. For others, it means supporting and improving homeschooling. As an advocate of homeschooling, I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Texas Homeschool Coalition. I believe the values and virtues that homeschool education can provide are fundamental for the development of character for this generation. As Governor, I will continue to protect the right for Texas’ families to homeschool their children.”
The campaign also released a web ad featuring Greg Abbott as he continues to travel across Texas to visit schools and meet with educators and students on his education roundtable tour. “We have the ability to be number one in education,” Abbott says in the video. “We can and we will ensure Texas rises to number one in education in this state, because we have the parents, the principals and the students to achieve just that.”
