Greg Abbott is committed to making sure Texas continues down the path of economic prosperity. According to the Texas Workforce Commission’s latest report, the state added 46,600 new jobs in July and our unemployment rate remains 5.1 percent – more than a full point below the national unemployment rate OR average.

As the Houston Chronicle reported:

“… [A]ll of the state’s major industries expanded during the month. Professional and business services added 10,600 jobs in July and, over the year, has grown by 72,300 jobs for an annual growth rate of 5 percent.”
